Superwinch Unveils Patent Pending Potting Method for Winch Electronics
Superwinch, the largest privately-held winch manufacturer in the world, announced the unveiling of the company’s pending patent for a new potting method for electronics. Potting of electronics is the ultimate method to keep water and contamination separate from the delicate electronics that power today’s winches.
By creating two potting packs, Superwinch can provide quick, easy and less costly replacements instead of throwing an entire potted assembly away. Superwinch’s method saves time and money while bringing potted electronics to consumers, not just military and industrial winching.
“We’re extremely proud to bring potted electronics to consumers in a way that saves time and money. Potting electronics remains the pinnacle of waterproofing and our new method introduces a way to do it cost-effectively for consumers,” says Superwinch VP of Global Operations, Brent Nasset.
The Superwinch EXP Series features 8,000, 10,000 and 12,000 pound capacities; wire or synthetic rope; and integrated design or non-integrated design for remote solenoid box installations. The Superwinch EXP Series will be assembled in the USA from globally sourced parts.
Superwinch’s 45 years of experience is unmatched in engineering, designing, building and testing winches for recreation, recovery, industrial, utility and military pursuits.
